What is the best Walco Spreader for your property?

If you're looking for a spreader to do the hard yards around your property. A Walco Spreader will be ideal. Follow the steps below to determine the best spreader for your needs. To ensure you get the ideal Spreader think about the application and the size of spreader you require.

STEP ONE: Size

First, determine the best size of your spreader. The below table shows sizes available in the Walco Range. Ask yourself questions like:

• Would you like to use 1/2 tonne or 1-tonne bags of Urea?
• Would you prefer to use 40kg Bags?
• Which size will make re-filling the fastest?
• What area do you need to cover?

Once you have determined the size you require make a note of the Model. (I.e. If you require a unit that can take 3 x 40kg Bags of Urea your best option is the 1.75 model.) Once you have noted down the model move to the next step to determine the best type of unit.

Size Rating:

* DAP = Di-Ammonium Phosphate

STEP TWO: Linkage or Trailing

Now you have determined the best size for your spreader you will need to determine if you require a linkage or trailing unit. Use the below table to determine which options are available in your chosen model. Remember:

• If you have hilly and undulating country a wide axle unit with a low centre of gravity will be a great option.
• If your country is bumpy choose a Dual Axle unit this can 1/2 the bumps making the spreader easier to pull.
• If you require a spreader that can take 2-tonne bags of Urea you will need a linkage unit.

Once you have determined if you require a Single Axle, Wide Axle, Dual Axle or PTO make a note next to the chosen model.

STEP THREE: DETERMINE YOUR SPREADER

Congratulations you have determined the best spreader for your property. 

Take a look at the notes you have written. Check the model name and then if you have chosen a Single Axle, Wide Axle, Dual Axle or PTO. Then simply match your chosen model and type of spreader to the table below.
