What are the options in the Delmade Single Rotor Slasher Range?

Hi there, it's Sarah again! If we haven't crossed paths before, I wear a few hats at Delmade – working in Sales and Marketing while juggling farm life and chasing an Ag degree. (Who needs spare time right?) Today, I'd love to walk you through Delmade's Slasher range, covering everything from the lighter models to the heavy-duty workhorse.

I’m hoping by the end of this read you can narrow down to 1 or 2 models that you think are best suited to your application, but if you are still unsure don’t panic… that’s what the team is here for.

WH&S

First up I wanted to mention that all Delmade slashers adhere to Australian National Safety Standards. Front and rear chains, PTO guarding, and operator labels to ensure safety.

Full Range of Single Rotor Slashers

There are 5 models of single rotor slashers available. The cutting width on these units is up to 6'6". We also offer a twin rotor which has a cutting width of up to 12'. if you are looking for a slasher larger than 12' we recommend looking at the Flex Wing Slasher Range.

TA Range

Starting with the TA Range the lightest slasher Delmade offers. With a 40HP gearbox, this unit is a good all rounder for a hobby farm. It will handle most of your light work but the minute you decide to get into brush or heavy growth we recommend going to the EP range.

EP Range

Next, we have the EP, an all-rounder designed for smaller properties but built heavier than the TA Range. This unit is ideally suited to grass, ferns and small volumes of thicker materials. Sizes range from 3'4" up to 6'. It features a 40hp gearbox and suits tractors between 18-60hp (the 6' has a 50hp gearbox).

The 3mm steel deck and 6mm skids provide durability where it matters.

Designed for flexibility, with a dual-mount feature that allows you the flexibility to work closer to fence lines or tree lanes for a neater finish.

HD Range

Now, let's check out the Heavy Duty (HD) range. Available in three sizes with a 75hp gearbox, these slashers work best with tractors between 40-100hp. Crafted with high-quality components, the HD series ensures durability with features like an Italian-designed gearbox and a Bondioli and Pavesi drive shaft.

The HD series offers a 6mm top plate and 6mm skids. The larger gearbox provides a faster blade tip speed, making it effective for cutting through dense vegetation and thicker stems, such as blackberries, sags, and ferns. The 75mm x 8mm hardened tempered steel blades come in straight or stepped options.

Choose between a 2-pack paint finish or galvanising for increased body life especially if you live in coastal areas. In addition, there's an option for a single pneumatic wheel kit to enhance stability.

EHD Range

The EHD or Extra Heavy Duty takes it up another notch; it comes with a 110hp gearbox in either a 5'10" or 6'9" working width. This unit is significantly heavier than the HD range due to the size and amount of steel used to reinforce the frame. The 5'10" may suit tractors as small as 60-70 HP upwards provided that the tractor can handle the weight safely on the rear, the 6’9” requires 75hp and upwards.

The units have a four-plate slip clutch and Italian Comer Gearbox with a 5-year gearbox warranty.

As the slashers get bigger, you need to be reassured that the components can manage the load, so the rotor on this unit is machined from hardened, tempered steel. The blades for the EHD are made from 100mm x 12mm Boron steel and are reversible blades, meaning you get twice the longevity from each set of blades. These blades are designed to tackle all of your regular needs and then some. This means blackberries and light gorse are also an option.

Standard as a 2-pack painted finish, you do have the option to upgrade this unit to a contractor's package, which includes galvanising, a dual solid rubber wheel kit, (meaning you won't have to worry about punctures) and additional skid runners to stand up to endless amounts of wear and tear.

Warrior Range

The strongest and heaviest slasher in the Delmade range comes in either a 5'10" or 6'9" and features an Italian-made unlimited gearbox perfect for tractors over 100hp.

With an eight series PTO drive shaft with four plate slip clutch offering premium protection, the Warrior is built for hard work. The implement's body is framed above the top plate, meaning the underbody remains completely free from obstruction and allows optimum trash flow.

Couple this with the Warrior's 75mm x 16mm Boron blades, which have a twisted and stepped blade designed to create an updraft lifting the grass flattened by tractor tyres on passing, reducing the stalking in wheel ruts.

As with the EHD model, the Warrior can also be upgraded to a contractor's package with a galvanised deck, extra wear skids, and dual solid wheel kit to ensure you have all the goods to get the job done year after year.

Twin Rotor Range

If your requirements are for something over 7ft, you can move to a twin rotor available in 8’, 10’, or 12' as a three-point linkage model, or a 10' and 12' as a trailing model. These units are ideal for pasture topping or covering large areas in minimal time.

These units are generally suited to tractors above 50hp and run a 110hp gearbox in the unit's centre and 2 x 75hp end gearboxes above the rotors.

The rotors spin in opposite directions, creating a windrow behind the centre of the slasher, but can be reversed if desirable.

The top plate consists of 5mm steel with 6mm skids. These models come standard with a wheel kit, which will vary depending on your chosen working width.
